Hot Trends in the Fitness Nation
We are a nation of obesity and excessiveness. Many if us struggle daily with eating properly and getting enough exercise. The statistics speak for themselves when 1.5 million heart attacks occur in the United States each year with 500,000 deaths, according to the Women's Heart Foundation. Many of us wished we had started our healthy habits during our early years. Fortunately, many of the colleges around the United States are putting more money and effort into developing fitness centers on their campuses. Not only are the traditional super gyms popping up, but some colleges are adding new fitness trends, like indoor rock climbing walls. Not only does this activity create muscles, but sports like rock climbing are fun and safe.
At Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, the new recreation center on 48th street breaks the barriers and opens doors to alternatives in exercise. These new fitness trends widen the scope of exercise to include climbing as a sport and a viable exercise.

US Fitness Interviews
As we pool all the information from the fitness interviews from the US Fitness group here at ODU, we can agree that the next big thing in fitness is going to be the New ODU Recreation Center. If you go to Susan's blog PumpUup you can find out some information about the progression of this facility. She has interviewed the director of recreational sport, R. Kevin Marbury.

You can never do to much reading or looking....
One for all and all for one....Yes another pop culture reference, this time at the beginning. Here we are again Ladies and Gentlemen TEAM US FITNESS. We are back to give our similar and different outlooks on what...you got it health and fitness.
The First lady of TEAM US FITNESS, PumpUup, will give her view on the feeds. I posted the fitness health zone site. It was pertinent to the topic at hand, the three of us are college students that feel very strongly about health and fitness. The blog about how doctors do not prescribe enough exercise hit a vein seeing as how doctors would give me more medicine but when I started to exercise I felt better. Take a look at these blogs they are very informative and interesting.
Next up is the resident germ guy Mr. Health and Fitness. I pulled these posts because of my last post and the coming season. As we all know with the spring and summer season is the season where we all try to look our best physically so why not look into ways to stay on diets, stay away from fatty foods and into ways to try and keep the fat off.
Last but not least its me yes your friendly neighborhood WonderingWise. I have chosen The Capoeira Blog. I stumbled upon this site....sort of; this website is a overview of the art of Capoeira. The reason that I chose this site was because this art in its physical aspect is a workout for the entire body so why not share my wealth with you too.

Remove the Germs......They are just nasty

Here we are dun dun dun duuuuu TEAM US....well US Fitness. We are one woman and two men who find health and fitness interesting in different manners. We all are a part of a larger group of individuals that have different topics for our class. Yes if you must know we are all COLLEGE STUDENDTS; which means we is smart (catch the joke?)
Our main goals here are to both give and gain advice, opinions, facts and education about health and fitness. Our first post is going to be simply about GERMS...lol got your attention?
Germs ladies and gentlemen are everywhere during every season of the year; some just more than others depending on the season. As children we were taught to wash our hands and sadly enough some people have forgoten that rule, JUST SAD. Our hands have the most contact with germs so why wouldn't we try to keep them especially when they touch everything else, such as friends, phones, doorknobs, oh yea and FOOD. For the poeple that are Gym Rats here is a rule or two for you. 1-HAVE A TOWEL. Is it soooo hard to just have a towel, it doesn't matter if you sweat a lot or a little no one wants to wear your sweat as a colounge/perfume.....its just gross. 2-WIPE OFF YOUR EQUIPMENT WHEN YOU ARE DONE. Once again its not hard the gym provides rags and cleaning spray.......30 seconds and BAM right back to your workout.
Here is the end I hope that you all can take heed to what is written because much like US no one enjoys being sick. SO HERE IS TO A HEALTHY JUMP ON THE YEAR.....CHEERS!!!!!!!
